Annie Mae Griffin

Annie Mae Jordan Griffin (Jean), age 98 of Cleveland, Georgia passed September 4th, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. The family will receive visitors from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday September 5th, 2023 at Cleveland Funeral Home and cremation services in Cleveland, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 10am September 6th, 2023 at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Clermont, Georgia. 

Annie, nicknamed Jean by her husband, was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Delia Jordan of Commerce, her brothers Marvin, Erastus, and R.L Jordan; sister Clammie Lyle; her loving husband of 60 years Carter Thaddeus Griffin Jr. and Son-in-law Dr. Kent Scheider. She is Survived by her daughter, Rachel Schneider, Son Rev. Carter Tiimothy Griffin and his wife Nina; Grandchildren retired Navy Seal Adam Casey and his wife Barbie; Vanessa Odom and her husband Scott; great granddaughter Katherine Anne and husband Jared Widdows and great grandson Adam, Jr. and Ethan Casey.

Annie grew up during the great depression which instilled in her the values of faith, hard work, self-reliance, self sacrifice, perseverance, duty, respect, and gratitude. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter, avid gardener, reader and homemaker in every sense of the word. She was indeed part of the greatest generation. She was a kind, strong and virtuous lady, deeply loving Mother and life's greatest blessing to her family. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday September 5th, 2023 at Cleveland Funeral Home from 6-8pm, Graveside service will be 10am, Wednesday September 6th, 2023 at Concord Baptist Church.                                                             Rev. Timothy Griffin and Rev. Heath Modisette will officiate.
