Dr. Henry Dwight “DOC” Mercer of Clarkesville Georgia passed away on April 12, 2023. Born on February 20, 1939 in Blakely Georgia to John and Mattie (Crawford) Mercer “DOC” as he was known by all would later attend and obtain a BS and DVM from the University of Georgia, a Masters from the University of Florida, and a PHD from Ohio State University. Dr. Mercer was a member of MVMA and AVMA. After Dr. Mercer’s retirement as the Dean at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Mississippi State University, he would continue to be very active in life, owning and operating his own business EMS Consulting and as member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Habersham County where he sang in the choir.
