Mary “Gerry” (Smith) Morris

Mary Geraldine “Gerry” Morris age 81 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on April 11, 2023. Mrs. Morris was born in Cartersville, Georgia to Elmer and Becky Smith. “Gerry” as she was nicknamed by her husband was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and spending time cooking for her husband. Often baking cakes, one in particular; a Japanese Fruit Cake that she learned to make by receiving the recipe from her father in law. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morris is preceded by her daughter Alice Eminger, and her brothers James Smith and Elmer Smith Jr.

Gerry is survived by her husband of 64 years,  Roy Allen Morris, daughter Carolyn M Torres, son Elmer J Morris, sister Caroline Parks, brother in law Andrew J Morris  Sisters in law; Sara M Kimsey and Jackie Cox  

Grandchildren; Gerald & Amy Morris, Maria Ruvalcaba & Brandon Peters, and Norma & Michael De Alejandro  

Great-grandchildren; Rose Mary Osorio, Angel Martinez, Jorge Martinez, Leslie Sanchez, Harley Peters, Harper Peters, Jose Luis Salgado, Jose Angel Salgado Jr., James Morris, Noah Morris, Tobias Morris and Rebekah Morris. Plus numerous other relatives also survive.

Family will receive friends on Saturday April 15, 2023 from 4pm until 8 pm at Cleveland Funeral Home and on Sunday April 16, 2023 from 12pm until 2pm with a service following in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at Yonah View Cemetery in Cleveland, Georgia.
